New Moon • New Beginning

On April 1st we have a new moon in Aries and since a new moon means the sun and the moon are together in the sky, the sun is also in Aries signifying an astrological new year. All of this is to say that we have new beginnings showing up all over the place.

My Aries birthday was this past weekend. I turned sixty-nine. Sixty-nine years of experience. Some of my experiences I wouldn’t wish on anyone, but some have been incredibly beautiful. I really feel like anyone who grew up in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s deserves a medal and anyone who made it through the 80’s with their hair intact definitely deserves an award of some kind. I try not to dwell.

We all have our experiences. I like to think it’s what we learn from them that makes us who we are and shows us who we can be. That doesn’t mean keeping the old in your back pocket as a constant reminder. It means using the experience as way of knowing what you want more of in life. “Yes, that worked nicely, I’d like more of that.” “Nope, that sucked, I can let that one go.”

Life itself is a series of experiences.

With this new moon in Aries, the opportunity for new beginnings is staring us in the face. Do you have any thoughts about what you might want to bring into your life? Perhaps you have some things you’d like to let go of and make room for something new. Sitting in meditation or writing in your journal will allow you to tap into the energies, bringing inspiration and insights.

I’ve let go of a lot, especially over this past year, and I’m sure there’s more to go. Each letting go has created space in my heart and allowed me to breathe more freely. I’m feeling inspired now to bring more joy into my life. With this new moon, I’ll let the energies of new beginnings wash over me and create an opening for joy to find its way.

How can this new moon support you?

Deborah your writing always inspires me to look at my life in a different, more positive way. New beginnings appeal to me even at this time in my life. Thank you for your encouragement and may this new moon help all of us to proceed with more hope, courage and Love.

Thank you Anne. I love that new beginnings speaks to you. We have this new moon and new start to the astrological calendar, but truly, every morning when we wake up we have also been blessed with a new beginning. We are so loved!

I just read your April newsletter, Deborah, and it really made me chuckle as well as reflect. You write beautifully! I tend to fill my life with 'busyness' - your April reflection reminds me that it's okay to choose activities based on whether or not they fulfill an inner need. Thank you very much for sharing these thoughts with your readers.

Thank you for sharing Kay - yes, busyness can be a life filler, but why fill our time with things that we don't delight in? We always have a choice. Thanks for YOUR reminder!
