Spicy Apple Salad
There's nothing quite like a cold, crunchy salad on a hot summer's day. This recipe uses garam masala in the dressing and it makes a wonderful sweet/spicy addition.
2 organic apples, quartered, cored and cut into bite sized pieces (I like to keep the peel on, but it's optional) 1/4 cup organic raisins 1 tablespoon red onion, chopped fine 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped 1/4 teaspoon garam masala (definitely start with a small amount and adjust.) DRESSING #1 1/2 cup organic mayonnaise DRESSING #2 1/2 avocado, smashed 1/4 cup organic plain, full-fat greek yogurt |

Combine the dressing ingredients and add the garam masala to taste.
To Plate:
Place green lettuce or spinach on a chilled plate with a garnish of avocado wedges. Chill until ready to serve.
Option:
This salad is a great side dish, but can also be served as an entree when mixed with chunks of cooked chicken or salmon.
