Hummus

Hummus is great as a dip for veggies, as a base layer for crackers, as a spread in wraps, or in place of mayonnaise.
1-15oz can garbanzo beans, reserve the liquid
1/4 cup olive oil
clove of garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
salt, to taste
lemon wedge

Place the garbanzo beans in a food processor fitted with the S-shaped blade. Pour in the olive oil. Add salt, cumin, garlic, and juice from the lemon wedge. Blend until the garbanzo beans are smooth, adding more of the reserved liquid or olive oil if necessary to reach your preferred consistency.

Adjust the seasonings.

Letting this sit for an hour or two is great, but if you do that, you might need to double the batch!
A beautiful cream colored handmade bowl filled with hummus.
