Does the Food You Eat Support Your Health?

When we eat, we're saying 'yes' to life. What, how, and why you eat can inform how you choose to support health for your precious life. 
What you eat says volumes about how you value life - your life. Do you eat the highest quality food you can afford? Not everyone can afford organic and not everyone has access to farm fresh food. However, being intentional about food purchases, really giving consideration to what foods you choose to consume, no matter what your budget, lets the body know that it is being cared for in a loving, conscious way.
How you choose to eat is another way to let your body know that it's being cared for in the most loving way possible. Eating slowly and consciously sends a message of love to the body. When you eat, do you take time and honor the food that is giving you life?
Paying attention to why you eat what you eat can often bring up some forgotten memories and even some interesting emotions. Next time you are shopping, preparing or eating a meal, take a moment and focus your awareness on the thoughts or memories that might show up. Where were you when you first ate your favorite side dish? Perhaps you have a food that you avoid. Does a favorite dessert offer a memory of a different time? The foods we eat can often have more to do with memories associated with the food than with the food itself. Are you nourishing your body with food and thoughts that support health?
As you prepare, serve, and eat your next meal, take a moment and see if what you are about to eat supports your health goals. Observing what, how, and why you eat what you eat might offer some insights as to how you choose to live your life.
