This is what I know to be true. We’re not alive on this planet to be on a weight loss diet, we weren’t given bodies to try and control them. We are, in fact, amazingly beautiful beyond even our wildest imagination. We carry the light of Source – love consciousness within us.
Going on a weight loss diet, is like telling the Goddess of all that is that she’s an ugly bunch of fat that needs to be controlled, denied, and restricted so she can look better. It's trying to control the universe that lives within us - that is you. And why would you want to do that?
What you’re really doing on a weight loss diet is creating disharmony - an environment ripe for illness, either mental or physical, and spiritual disconnect. And, you’re walking into the hands of those who believe women are weak and feeble minded.
You’re not weak. You’re not feeble minded. We need to stop treating ourselves as though these labels are true. Rather, step into the truth of your being, who you are underneath the layers of your life, who you came onto earth to become.
How do you do that? How do you drill down through the patterns, thoughts, and beliefs to get to who you truly are? It’s done through awareness, intent, and being open to possibilities. It can be a lot of work, but it's also rewarding. It can be painful, but it's also exciting.
When I first started doing this work for myself, I was a bit skeptical, but over time I became fascinated. I put the scale away - for good - and instead of focusing on dieting, I used my energy to dig into the areas of my life that were holding me in a pattern of not enough. One by one, I started to let them go. It was very liberating. I could literally feel my life force start to flow and my relationship with myself shifted. I started eating food that showed my body I was in relationship with her rather than trying to control her.
Allowing yourself to show up authentically means leaving the diet behind, leaving behind the notion that being thin is when you'll be happy, and instead accept yourself as the beautiful woman you are in this moment.
By being in relationship with your body and eating food that respects it, you may in fact lose weight. But it's because your body is ready to let it go, not because you have manipulated and controlled her into submission.
Being in relationship is an expansive way of being that opens you toward exploring the beauty of your true self.
In love and light,
